Istria New Year sea swimmers

The new year 2014 has started with the traditional Istria midday swim in the Adriatic sea. Istria New Year sea swim is a tradition quarter of a century long which each year brings together more and more swimmers and spectators.  istria-new-year-sea-swimmersNew 2014th assembled a lot of citizens of Pula for a high noon new year wish celebrating with a glass of  champagne.

istria-new-year-sea-swimmersAmong them are veterans like 83 -year-old Alma Šešlije who is keeping this tradition more than 20 years. Primarily for health reasons but also for other advantages.

Mladen Bukara , one of the younger swimmers, and year-round swimming in the sea began four years ago. Slovenian Jernej Švajdek was first foreign tourist on the New Year’s Pula sea swimmers gathering. istria-new-year-sea-swimmers
